Believe in yourself. Begin to create.

Columbia Science Research Fellow (Full-Scholarship), NASA-highlighted researcher & first author publisher at 17, solo backpacked through 50+ countries including conflict zones.

I believe: A truly fulfilling life requires not only kindness and responsibility, but the conscious pursuit of creation and breakthrough.

I once saw mountains, forests, and deserts. I witnessed lives in war zones and refugee camps. Now, I want to help you see yourself, with infinite possibility. To create good new things.

From Columbia to the World's Cracks

At 15, I emailed a NASA scientist about extraterrestrial research. Two days later, he replied. One month later, I passed his test after self-studying everything needed. Two years later, I became the youngest lead author published in the journal Galaxies, with my research selected for NASA JPL's Earth Science Highlights.

Columbia University admitted me with a full four-year scholarship as one of 14 Science Research Fellows selected from 60,000+ applicants. I thought I had arrived. But late nights in Butler Library, watching everyone chase Wall Street and Silicon Valley, a question grew louder: Then what?

"I've seen many young people from top schools with a promising resume — yet trapped in invisible cages. They know how to take tests, analyze, plan, but not how to ask themselves: Is this what I truly want?"

So I stopped and chose to take a gap year, to travel to the world's cracks — Afghanistan, Syria, Iraq, Iran, Lebanon — not as a tourist, but as a witness. 128 days. Lived in 100+ strangers' homes. Seeking real collision with the world.

I want to collide with the world authentically, not just observe it through a screen. I want to see what's behind the labels, to understand the essence of life.

Why I Wrote This Book

I'm often asked: Why do you go to those places? Pakistan, Afghanistan, Iran, Iraq, Lebanon, Syria — these names are always linked to war, chaos, and danger. They are the world's cracks, the fault lines where civilizations collide, the forbidden zones most people avoid.

And I, a nineteen-year-old girl with a 40-liter backpack, walked right in.

Making Peace with Death

"I came to the world's largest cemetery, burying six million souls. Gazing at the endless graves, I finally realized: death transforms us from finite bodies to infinite possibility. 'I' dissolves, extending into limitless space, merging with the universe."

Roses in the Cracks
📍 Afghanistan

Her smile faded a little. "Being born a girl in Afghanistan means there's almost nothing we can do. Even our time to pray is restricted. Women are only allowed to go to the mosque on Wednesdays and Thursdays. A friend of mine went on a Friday and was thrown in prison for six months." "I can't cry in front of people," she said, smiling sweetly again, though her eyes glistened with tears. "Afghan girls grow up fast. We learn to live alongside our chains and manufacture hope out of despair." A dull ache settled in my chest. Helplessness and sorrow blurred my vision. "You're truly amazing. I admire you so much…" Words failed me, so I clumsily changed the subject. "Tell me something happy that's happened to you recently." Her face lit up instantly. "Schools are banned for girls, but the national electronic exams are open to everyone — the Taliban probably haven't gotten around to controlling that yet. Anyway, I placed first in the provincial math competition!" Her smile carried the vitality of life sprouting from the most barren soil — seizing every scrap of nourishment to grow upward. But what loomed over her was not only sunlight; it was also countless physical cages. And still she grew — stubborn yet gentle, laced with both optimism and sorrow. That kind of life force made me want to cry. I opened the book about their stories and found my favorite line, translating it for them: "A bird never fears the branch she stands on, because she knows what keeps her safe is not that fragile branch, but her own wings, ready to open." Stars suddenly sparked in the girls' eyes. "Thank you — those words are so beautiful…" In that moment I understood: this is what resistance means. It is these girls risking their lives every day to come learn martial arts. It is Sharif selling everything he owns to protect this space. It is Ahmad taking the risk to bring me here as a witness. It is that Canadian flying halfway around the world to clear rubble. It is everyone who, in the depths of despair, still chooses kindness, still chooses courage, still chooses not to give up. They are the true heroes — needing no armor, no weapons, only a heart that refuses to surrender.

Strangers Becoming Family
📍 Iran

"On my 20th birthday, a stranger drove me 800 kilometers to Tehran. He had nothing, no fixed home, yet was willing to help someone he'd just met. 'What do we truly own in this life?' he asked me in the darkness. 'Living itself is owning everything,' I replied. 'We come with nothing, we leave with nothing. Once you see this clearly, everything becomes simple and happy.' 'But what about debts?' he laughed lightly, as if covering all emotions with that floating laugh. Later he said: 'I live for the love between people.' That sentence was like a seed, planted deep in my heart."

Life Blooming in the Ruins
📍 Syria · Aleppo

I walked beneath buildings on the verge of collapse, the walls riddled with bullet holes like a honeycomb. Suddenly, a little girl—maybe five or six years old—emerged from behind the ruins in a pink coat. Seeing my foreign face, she froze for a moment, then broke into a radiant smile. It was a smile so pure it seemed to pierce through all the gloom. “Ni hao!” she said in halting Chinese, then carefully made the shape of a heart with both her hands. I knelt down, returning her smile. Unexpectedly, she ran to me and wrapped her arms around me in a tight embrace. “I love you!” Her tiny, tender voice echoed through the rubble, and my heart melted instantly. This child, raised among the wreckage, might not know what a wall looks like without bullet holes or what a house looks like when it's whole—but she knows love. She knows joy. She knows how to make a stranger feel warmth. In that moment, war, suffering, death—all those heavy words—lost their weight. Within the embrace of this little girl, I felt the most primal, simple warmth of humanity.
